Phosphorescent

‘Song for Zula’ is off a new album Muchacho by Matthew Houck and his merry Phosphorescent men. The song has a sense of mystery, with its string loops, synthesised echos and wistful use of pedal steel guitar. Thank goodness for Houck’s world-weary vocals, keeping listeners’ feet firmly on the ground.
