Floating Points – Silhouettes (2015)

Floating Points

Floating Points is the recording alias of music producer Sam Shepherd. Like his fellow Brit, Jon Hopkins, Shepherd was classically trained from a young age, giving him the confidence to lead a 16-piece Floating Points Ensemble and experiment in his passions passion for both the classical and the jazz. In its full 10’45” format, the three-part work ‘Silhouettes (I, II, & III)’ is a glorious progression of jazz drumming, electronica and atmospheric strings. I have listened this this track over and over in the last few weeks. Seek out the full version.
