It’s Immaterial

More dream pop and this time it’s from a band that understands all about life in a northern town. It’s Immaterial were Scousers and in 1986 they released ‘Driving Away From Home’ as the opener on their debut long player Life’s Hard and Then You Die. “Now just get in/And close the door/And put your foot down/… And head on down the M62.” They were not the only ones to have the idea of leaving Liverpool in the 1980s. I chose to travel in the opposite direction at the start of the following decade.
