Coldplay – Viva La Vida (2008)

I am not sure I like what Coldplay represent – impeccable, tasteful and arena-friendly. However, hiring Brian Eno to produce most of their fourth album Viva La Vida was a masterstroke – a kind of pre-packed artistic integrity. But still, the title track off Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends is impeccable and tasteful. And the use of an orchestra, its exhilarating chorus “I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing…” and the drummer’s decisionĀ to play kettle drums make it arena friendly.
