RAMP – Daylight (1977)

Ramp

I was first introduced to ‘Daylight’, in part, as a sample on A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘Bonita Applebum’. RAMP released their only album Come Into Knowledge in 1977, as a vehicle for the jazz funk songwriting talents of Roy Ayers and Edwin Birdsong. Written by the two of them, ‘Daylight’ featured on the B-side of the LP and quickly became a classic ‘rare groove’. Roy Ayers’ Musical Prophecy. Have a great weekend.
