Black Kids

Partie Traumatic is Black Kids’ debut album and it had everybody talking in 2008, when it was released. A band from Jacksonville, recording in London and all under the stewardship of Suede guitarist Bernard Butler. The sound of its first single ‘I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You’ is pure indie pop – full of immediacy and guitar reverb. According to vocalist Reggie Youngblood, the lyrics were inspired by the Florida dance party scene. Have a great week.
