Field Report – Taking Alcatraz (2012)

Field Report

Field Report is an anagram of the songwriter Chris Porterfield’s surname. The band name’s is a suitably folksy headline for the parable ‘Taking Alcatraz’, the tale of Richard Oakes, the Mohawk rebel who led an occupation of Alcatraz. Chris Porterfield is from a different colony – Bon Iver’s town Eau Claire, Wisconsin and played pedal steel in Justin Vernon’s old band DeYarmond Edison.
