Phoenix band again

Chopin Liszt, get it?! This schoolboy frivolity is no more silly than the word ‘Lisztomania’. It turns out that it was a form of extreme fanaticism directed towards Franz Liszt during his virtuoso performances. Where Chopin was effortless, Liszt was a prodigious performer from an early age.  ‘Lisztomania’ is the opener of Phoenix’s 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.  I have just found out that this most splendid pop track is actually more about the Ken Russell movie, starring Roger Daltry as the pianist. It’s turning out to be a cinematic week.
