Belle and Sebastian

I like Scottish popsters Belle & Sebastian, but I’ve struggled to really like them. ‘Piazza, New York Catcher’ is from their 2003 album, Dear Catastrophe Waitress. I don’t pretend to know much about the cult of Mike Piazza nor baseball, but the idea of these wistful Glaswegians knowing their backstop from their red socks (sic) is intriguing. It’s catchy and it seems to be asking the profound question, is Mike Piazza gay? Well I do know that Piazza is the only Dodger to ever have hit a home run (478 foot) out of Dodger Stadium (1997). You can tell I was intrigued.
