Bon Iver – For Emma (2007)

Bon Iver were founded in 2007 by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. Vernon released Bon Iver’s debut album For Emma, Forever Ago later that year, having spent three months recording it in his father’s hunting cabin in Dunn County, northwestern Wisconsin. Despite the self-imposed exile, he enjoyed a bon hiver indeed. The fruit of sessions fuelled by solitude, firewood and limited daylight hours is a simplicity and self-confession, all beautifully portrayed in the love song ‘For Emma’.
