Fleetwood Mac – Gypsy (1982)

YouTube – AmazoniTunes – Discogs

Stevie Nicks wrote ‘Gypsy’ to include it on her 1980 album Bella Donna. Apparently, the album didn’t have room and she offered it up for Fleetwood Mac’s long player Mirage. By this time, her friend Robin Anderson was dying of leukemia and the song became a tribute. But I do not intend to play the sympathy card with this one; this is pure guilty pleasure for this blogger, and it is no coincidence that I choose to offset it this week with a number of more credible alt rock and hip hop tracks. With Carly Simon’s ‘You’re So Vain’, this is soft rock par excellence. Don’t tell my friends.
