The Eagles – One Of These Nights (1975)

It was 1975 and the full force of disco was going mainstream. Some stellar acts (The Stones, Bowie, Stewart, Bee Gees) would take note, but none more surprisingly and effortlessly than The Eagles. Don Henley and Glenn Frey would clearly mix in elements of disco (including Randy Meisner-led falsetto harmonies) with their country rock sound to create ‘One Of These Nights’. Those ninja-like delayed chord chops would be seen again four years later in Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2’.

Never quite understood the “thing” with The Eagles. It’s not one thing or another. Bit nondescript even with your fine attempt to explain. Not awful. Not interesting.
