Alberta Cross – Lucy Rider (2007)

When Scandis sing in English, their pitch creates a strange twist on something familiar – think the indie americana of The Kissaway Trail, the prog rock of Mew and the space rock of The Soundtrack Of Our Lives. But none more than Petter Stakee of Alberta Cross. Stakee’s Swedish lilt is grounded by Terry Wolfers’ bass to create the transcending sound of americana/’Lucy Rider’. It only seemed right that London-based duo would move stateside (Brooklyn) to sell ice to the eskimos.
