The Rolling Stones – Jigsaw Puzzle (1968)

YouTube – AmazoniTunes

I’m back in earnest and with a revelation too. It has taken a few years to settle in, but this is the Stones track for me. Off their 1968 long player Beggars Banquet, ‘Jigsaw Puzzle’ fends off other faves ‘Let It Loose’ and ‘She’s A Rainbow’ to win by a nose. The rest of the album, ain’t too shoddy either… ‘Sympathy For The Devil’, ‘Street Fighting Man’, ‘Stray Cat Blues’. Breathtaking talent. Have a great weekend.

  1. Hi
I enjoyed catching up with a few good (and opinionated) friends last night. I know I had a couple of sherbets, but they seemed to calling into question the brilliance of The Stones. I promised to set out an hour’s playlist in the hope that I could win them over for evermore. Please see the perfect hour below:

    1. Don’t Know Why Aka Don’t Know Why I Love You The Rolling Stones (as opposed to Stevie’s original version recently featured)
    2. She’s A Rainbow The Rolling Stones
    3. We Love You The Rolling Stones
    4. Monkey Man The Rolling Stones
    5. Jigsaw Puzzle The Rolling Stones
    6. Stray Cat Blues The Rolling Stones
    7. Sway The Rolling Stones
    8. Can’t You Hear Me Knocking The Rolling Stones
    9. Rocks Off The Rolling Stones
    10. Tumbling Dice The Rolling Stones
    11. Loving Cup The Rolling Stones
    12. Let It Loose The Rolling Stones
    13. Shine A Light The Rolling Stones

    It’s a Sunday… why not give it a go.

    Best, Richard

Who are these so called “friends” ? Name and shame

  3. Nick Elleray says:

That’s a hell of a strong playlist – especially considering you haven’t pulled out the obvious heavy-hitters from that period e.g. Gimme Shelter, Bitch, Jumping Jack Flash.

I would, however, argue for the inclusion of All Down The Line… perhaps as replacement for Loving Cup.
