The ambient monks heard in early balearic beats/acid house would enter the public’s dining room in 1990.  Michael Cretu’s project Enigma had released its debut album MCMXC a.D. and it went supernova. However, this listener preferred the echoes of opera in ‘Callas Went Away’ over the ubiquitous Gregorian chants of ‘Sadeness (Part I)’.
