Mew – Comforting Sounds (2003)

YouTubeAmazoniTunes – Discogs

Mew’s long player Frengers: Not Quite Friends But Not Quite Strangers came out of nowhere in 2003. Danish, alternative, dreamlike, full of harmony and completely unexpected. ‘Am I Wry? No’, ‘Snow Brigade’, ‘Symmetry’ and ‘She Came Home For Christmas’ create waves of atmospheric alt rock, you’ll be be doing well to make it all the way through to the ‘Comforting Sounds’ in one sitting. And there, you’ll find what sounds like prog rock to me. Love it.

  1. Dj Pj says:

Initially i thought it must be part of a LP and not really a single. then I see him go for the axe and give it some and I think Right my son here we go and then it,s kids in their garage having a jam and it finishes and I,m back to thinking its all part of the greater sum of an LP that I’m never going to get round to listen to. Oh well

  2. But they are Danish…
